When people ask me why I love to groom natural hair, I answer with a simple ," I couldn't imagine doing anything else. Grooming natural hair is my passion, I love the experience of getting reacquainted with the tightly coil of our original hair.

To totally strip the coil or curl out of our natural hair is another way of masking our identity. It takes strong characteristic traits to create such a texture of hair that nobody else has but us....you know who you are. I’ve been wearing my locked crown for 11 years during that time I’ve had the pleasure of helping others groom their locks and natural hair with much pleasure and success.

In 1998 I won a lock styling competition for the Braids and Beauty magazine; at first it was for fun but when I won 3rd place I knew I had a gift to provide a place where natural hair heads could come Back to your Roots and not have to hide their inherited beauty.
